Tell us about your room, household and preferences. Saunometry calculates your effective room volume, preliminary heater demand and the sauna configuration that best fits your project.
This helps us frame the installation and construction requirements.
Use finished interior dimensions in feet.
Estimate glass, brick, concrete, tile, stone or similar uninsulated surfaces inside the heated room.
If you're unsure, we'll use your priorities to make a preliminary suggestion.
Use the amount you're comfortable allocating to the sauna itself and core installation.
What matters most?
For preliminary planning, Saunometry starts with finished interior room volume. It then adjusts the effective heated volume for uninsulated heat-storing surfaces. The current calculation follows Harvia's published planning guidance: approximately 1 kW per cubic meter of effective sauna volume; each square meter of glass, stone or similar non-insulated surface adds 1.2 cubic meters; non-insulated log-wall rooms use a 1.5 volume factor.
Those calculations are deliberately used as a planning estimate only. Final equipment selection is always constrained by the selected heater manufacturer's tested room-volume range and installation instructions.
Saunometry is an independent sauna planning and selection tool. When merchant links are added, some may pay us a commission. Compensation will not change the inputs or sizing calculations, and commission relationships will be disclosed next to recommendations.
Use these focused guides when you need to solve one part of the purchase before running the full Saunometry recommendation engine.
Choose based on heat style, installation, electrical needs and buying priorities.
Compare placement, weather exposure, utilities and installation complexity.
Translate desired capacity into practical room and product considerations.
Understand why many traditional heaters require dedicated 240V circuits.
Saunometry helps homeowners turn room measurements, construction details, capacity, preferences and budget into a practical starting point for a sauna project. The calculator is designed to make the early research stage faster and more objective.
We do not manufacture, install or sell sauna equipment. When monetized recommendations are introduced, Saunometry may earn compensation from some merchants. Paid relationships will be disclosed clearly and will not alter the calculator's sizing inputs or formulas.
This MVP performs its calculations in your browser and does not ask for your name, email address or account registration. The current version does not intentionally store your questionnaire answers on a Saunometry server.
